Lead Core UDM Expert

The client is looking for a Lead Core UDM Expert to work a 6 month rolling contract based in Estonia & Lithuania (Remote).

Project Overview:

• CSP 5G Standalone project aims to migrate Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) to Cloud-Native Network Functions (CNFs) to enhance network efficiency, scalability and automation.
• The Lead Core Consultant will play a critical role in driving the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and design governance across internal and Customer teams, including defining E2E UDM deployment – design and driving its delivery across various teams.
• The main requirement is to be able to gather requirements for UDM deployment on VMWare Tanzu.
• It would be expected from the experts to work together with the telecom operator Voice core team and delivery team to technically lead the overall design and deployment of UDM/VMWare Tanzu.
• This involves supporting in CaaS (cluster) design, deployments, integrations, configurations, and testing of UDM. Also it would be required to use automated tools for deployment and upgrades.

Additional details on the tasks expected from the UDM experts are:

• Understands and is familiar with UDM Design and Architecture and its key features.
• Support in collecting and sharing the inputs needed from Customer to finalize the design and to be able to deploy UDM in Estonia/Lithuania.
• Can review and approve Design documents (example: HLD, LLD, CiQ) on behalf of Customer.
• Makes the bridge internally within Customer from their Design Stream towards their Integration and Operations Teams.
• Able to support Customer Provisioning Team in what are the key inputs they need to provide to successfully provision a 5G subscriber in UDM.
• Experience in Finland, Sweden, and Norway preferred.
• Solution Architect type of profile preferred.

Scope of Work:

Support Project Initiation and Planning:

• Support initial assessments and feasibility studies for the migration from VNFs to CNFs.

Strategy Development:

• Define the overall strategy for the migration, including objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and success criteria.

Architecture Design:

• Ensure delivery of comprehensive documentation for the 5G Standalone architecture, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operational procedures.

E2E Core Automation Design:

• Define the E2E Core DevOps Automation design, including automation workflows, processes, and tools that support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).

Design Governance:

• Establish design governance frameworks to ensure consistency and quality across all architectural components.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with customer stakeholders to understand their needs, priorities, and constraints.

Implementation and Deployment:

• Oversee the implementation of CNFs, ensuring adherence to the architectural blueprints and design governance frameworks.

Performance Optimization:

• Review the performance of the 5G Standalone network post-migration to identify areas for improvement.

Please note: Potential travel to customer offices in Lithuania and Estonia so a EU passport is required.
