Front-end Engineer

Experienced front-end engineer based in London required for an innovative AI FinTech role. The team is developing an AI-first product to support commercial real estate investment decisions.  The application pulls a large variety of data sources, applies market-leading machine learning, and presents insights in innovative visualizations. As a critical role in success, the client is looking to hire an experienced front-end engineer to build exciting new features, support the commercialization of the product, and be active partner in bringing digital innovation to commercial real estate.  You will join an experienced, tight-knit team of software developers, data engineers, machine learning scientists, and UX & UI designers. Based in the London office, but with a major focus on flexible working, this is an exceptional opportunity for those who want to bring the latest innovation to the real-estate industry and be challenged and grow as a front-end developer. Responsibilities and Performance Objectives:

• Take ownership of a significant part of the team’s solution development
• Demonstrate end-to-end understanding of applications being created
• Translate user stories and wireframes into a reliable, responsive experience
• Contribute to peer review process to ensure code quality
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to drive the product’s direction

Required Attributes: The minimum required skills include:

• Demonstrated experience writing extensible front-end code using at least one modern framework (e.g., React, Vue or Angular) and ideally TypeScript
• Experience with building components using test driven development
• Solid grasp of web fundamentals (e.g., ES6, TypeScript, HTML, CSS extensions such as SASS)
• Demonstrated experience interpreting user journeys and UI Designs – seeking clarification where necessary
• Demonstrated experience with UI testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, PhantomJS, Jasmine, and others)
• Experience working with Agile methods based on fast iteration and validation cycles
• Good communication skills and be a team player
• Great attention to detail

An ideal candidate (is not required to, but) will also have:

• Understanding of visual design principles
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
• Interest in machine learning
• Understanding of accessibility best practices
• Portfolio of past experience (e.g., demos of past work, contributions to open source, blogs, talks)
