Electrical Engineer

The client is looking for an Electrical Engineer (Solar Industry) to work a 12 month rolling contract based in Sandton (South Africa).

Job Description:

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer who is interested in joining an expanding company in the solar industry that specializes in the Commercial and Industrial sectors.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing solar energy projects from design to completion, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.
• This individual will have a strong background in electrical engineering, in the field of solar energy.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple company projects. Organise the project team and delegate team members to project tasks.
• Manage project deliverables, ensure that projects are delivered on time, set up regular meetings with clients and with direct manager and report back on project performance.
• Develop analytical tools and reports to manage and improve project performance.
• Maintain and develop internal relationships with all relevant project stakeholders.
• Design, and project manage solar systems in the commercial and industrial sectors.
• Develop standard operating procedures and safety standards for solar installation work.
• Provide technical direction or support to installation teams during installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning and performance monitoring.
• Monitor completed projects energy outputs to agreements.
• BSc/BEng: Electrical Engineering (MEng beneficial).
• Driver’s license; own vehicle; willingness to travel.
• EPC; IPP; solar power industry experience highly beneficial.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, PVSyst, Helioscope, PVSol, ProfiCAD software.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are professionally registered with ECSA.
