IP Networking Engineer
Job Description
The client is looking for an IP Networking Engineer to work a 6 month extendable contract based in Frankfurt, Germany (Hybrid).
Requirements:
- Languages; English (fluent) & German (beneficial)
- IT-Experience: 10 years+ within IP Networking
- Based: 80% remote / 20% on site (Germany, Frankfurt)
- Knowledge: Customer NW of Vodafone (beneficial)
Skills Required:
IP and MPLS Communications
Conception, Planning & Design IP Networking
Very good knowledge within following Technologies:
- IP network connectivity in Datacenter (DC) environments
- BGP Design, Route Reflector, Internet Gateways IGW, Transit, Peering
- QoS, VoIP Integration, DiffServ, IntServ, Classifying, Scheduling, Marking, Queuing
- Carrier Scale Networks, MPLS Backbone, RSVP-TE and LDP, VPN Services L2VPN,
- L3VPN, VPLS, Carrier Grade Infrastructure (IP), Carrier Grade NAT, BRAS/BNG solutions
- Security, Encryption, IPSec, Access-List, Filter, Firewalls
L3 Technologies:
Very good knowledge in the area of all L3 Technologies:
- BGP, OSPF, ISIS, Segment routing and other routing protocols (RIPv2, EIGRP, PBR), BFD
MPLS Technologies:
Very good knowledge in MPLS Technologies:
- LDP, RSVP-TE, L2VPN, EVPN, L3VPN
- Inter AS MPLS to MPLS via Option A, B and C
L2 Technologies:
Very good knowledge in the area of all L2 Technologies:
- Building large DC using Ethernet technologies
- VPC, FabricPath, Switching, VLAN, Spanning Tree Free DC Topologies
- Ethernet, Ethernet OAM, Ethernet VPN, e-VPN
- Building Metro Network based on Ethernet
- QoS in Ethernet Switched Networks
QoS:
Very good knowledge in QoS Technologies:
- Classifying, Queuing, Scheduling algorithm,
- Marking, Shaping and Rate adaption
- Classifying in 8/4 classes on the edge/core, End-to End quality assurance, Expedite class forwarding for VoIP, LLQ – low latency queuing, Measuring jitter & delay, QoS header in IP/MPLS (explicit/implicit null), router tester simulations, IPSLA probes
Security:
Very good knowledge in different Firewall technologies and security analysis:
- Filter, Adaptive Filter, Zone modeling
- VoIP through Firewall technologies, Securing Router, Thread analysis, DDoS & DoS mitigation
- CoPP, ACL’s, private vlans, DAI
Very good knowledge in different tunnel Implementations:
- IPSec, GRE tunneling
Network Management:
Very good knowledge in Network Management Technologies:
- FCAPS and KPI Modelling in Performance Management with SNMP, NTP, Syslog, Netflow
- In-Band- as well as Out-of-Band Management Implementation
VoIP:
Very good knowledge within following Technologies:
- Integration of VoIP into IP Backbone and Access networks
- QoS adaption for VoIP
- IP Transit with VoIP exchange
- SIP
Multicast:
Very good knowledge in Multicast streaming services based on:
- IGMPv2, IGMP Snooping, PIM Sparse-Mode, PIM Dense-Mode
- Multicast RPF, MSDP, Anycast RP, Auto RP, BSR
- SSM (Source Specific Multicast), IPTV services
BRAS / BNG and AAA:
Very good knowledge setting up access networks:
- PPTP xDSL
- vDSL
- Radius
- TACACS+
- DSLAM
Network Platforms:
Large Experience with the following Platforms (extract):
- CISCO IOS / IOS-XR Routers (NCS, CRS, ASR9K, 7600)
- CISCO Switch Platforms (Nexus – 7000, 5000, 2000 series, Catalyst – 6800, 6500, 4900, 4500, 3×50…)
- Juniper Junos Router (MX-series, M/T-series)
- Juniper Firewalls (SRX series)
- Juniper Switch Platforms (EX series)
