Kimberly Hume is looking for an Endpoint Security Engineer (MDM Specialist) to work a 12 month rolling contract based in Kingston (Jamaica).

Objective of the job:

The client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Information System Security Engineer (MDM Specialist) to join the team. As a key advisor to our clients, you will play a crucial role in analysing their business needs and designing and implementing the best security solutions.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end mobile device management lifecycle for the organization.

The Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all support SLA targets are achieved by engaging all key stakeholders and following internal SLAs and KPIs. The Engineer will assist all key stakeholders in ensuring that best practices are developed and adhered to for all cyber security technologies and services that are deployed.

Responsibilities and Scope

Security Engineering:

  • Plan, design, and implement security controls and measures to protect information systems and networks.
  • Evaluate and assess security risks and vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Serve as a tool SME and assist incident responders when necessary.
  • Engage and provide inputs on the architectural design of the EDR tool, and deploy new EDR services and endpoint security technologies / best practices.
  • Monitor and improve the EDR toolset.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits, and recommend improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to teams on security-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security requirements.

Mobile Device Management (MDM):

  • Support the entire device management lifecycle solution.
  • Use MDM applications for management, monitoring, reporting, and support.
  • Assist with device ordering, receiving, activation, configuration, deployment, and servicing.
  • Manage mobile devices (cell phones, smartphones, tablets, etc.) for employees and contractors.
  • Order, receive, activate, configure, deploy, and service replacement devices.

Customer Service:

  • Provide timely and accurate support and consultation to customers.
  • Resolve customer-related issues and network problems promptly and efficiently.
  • Respond to incidents and resolve them within established SLAs.
  • Assist Account Managers during the sales process by educating customers about new technologies.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience as a security engineer with experience in designing and implementing endpoint protection.
  • 2-3 years of experience in designing, implementing and supporting endpoint protection such as SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender and other major EDR tools.
  • 2-3 years working with Mobile Device Management (MDM) software (IBM MaaS360, Sentinel One, MS Intune).
  • Strong understanding of information security principles, methodologies and incident response.
  • Knowledge of security standards and regulations

Desired Certifications:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CompTIA Security+, SANS / GIAC incident response-related certifications are preferred.

Related experience:

  • Experience with security assessments and audits
  • Experience with security solutions (SIEM, firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, data encryption).
  • Experience with SIEM and SOAR automation.
  • User/entity behaviour analytics (UEBA)
  • Cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
  • Programming/Scripting (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
