Job Description

Our client is looking for a Front-end Engineer based in London, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid, Full-time). The client is seeking a Frontend Engineer to join the Engineering team, focusing on enhancing applications for the Merchant Solutions division. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to work independently or as part of a team, and confident in all aspects of software delivery, including build/test automation. Responsibilities:
  • Develop engaging and efficient user interfaces using modern web technologies.
  • Implement best practices for code quality, performance, and security.
  • Maintain and refactor existing codebase as needed.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, maintaining high code quality and enforcing coding standards.
  • Provide constructive feedback to other engineers to improve overall team performance.
  • Work effectively with product managers, project managers, designers, and other teams to ensure alignment and on-time delivery.
  • Continuously improve business domain expertise and product knowledge.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in software engineering, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in financial/payment services strategy, financial services, consulting, or a relevant field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, managerial studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with US Merchant Acquiring Operations preferred.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Expertise in change management and practices.
  • Strong understanding of the finance industry, payment services landscape, and client relationship dynamics.
  • Ability to assess risk, identify obstacles, and develop contingency plans.
  • Capability to foster a culture that supports change.
  • Understanding of financial implications, budget management, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Creative thinking and ability to introduce innovative solutions.
  • Strong project management skills to ensure projects are timely and aligned with company objectives.
  • Strategic thinking skills for developing a clear vision for transformation aligned with company goals.
